Are you thinking about delivering Arts Award after a break in delivery? Maybe you used to run Arts Award in another organisation and want to carry on in your new workplace? Or perhaps you completed your adviser training but never got started with a group? In this blog we will cover everything you need to know in order to pick up where you left off!
Find your login details
The first thing you should try and do is find your adviser login details. You will need these to log in to the centre portal, enter young people, become an Arts Award centre etc, so it is important to find them. You will have been sent your login details after you attended your adviser training course.
If you can’t find your username, you need to enter the email address we have on record for you on the username reminder page and you’ll be sent a reminder email to that address. If you have forgotten your password, you need to enter your username on the password reset page and you’ll be sent an email to your registered email address to reset your password.
If you get a message at any point saying your username or email is not found in the system, then this is usually because you haven’t logged in for a long time and your account has been deactivated. Please email your first and last name, your date of birth and the email address given during your Arts Award training to training.team@trinitycollege.co.uk and a member of the team will be able to assist you with getting re-activated.
Validate your centre
Once you have your login details, you can apply to become a validated centre or link yourself to an existing centre. The first step in becoming a new centre is to complete the expression of interest form, which can be found here.
To link yourself to an existing centre you’ll need to log in to the centre portal, click on ‘Register or link to an Arts Award centre’ and follow the steps. You will need the five-digit centre number, and the registered postcode for your Arts Award centre in order to complete this process. You can use our guidance documents and video tutorials for help with navigating the portal.
Download your adviser toolkit
If you haven’t delivered in a while you will probably need to download the latest version of the adviser toolkit. The adviser toolkit is your most important resource: you will use it for planning, delivering and assessing Arts Award, so it is vital you have the most up to date version. You can download the latest toolkit by logging in on this webpage.
Get to grips with changes to assessment
In December 2023 Arts Award introduced a new assessment model, which changed the way young people are assessed. You can get up to speed with the new assessment model by downloading our Arts Award moderation guide, reading our frequently asked questions blog, and watching our recent Meet the Moderator webinar.
Refresh your knowledge
If it has been a while since you trained, you may need to refresh your Arts Award knowledge and our webinars can help with this. We have a wealth of previous webinars that you can watch back to support your delivery with different groups of young people, settings and assessment, as well as webinars focusing on specific Arts Award levels. You can take a look at our webinar recordings here, in particular you might find our refresher sessions for Discover & Explore and Bronze & Silver useful. Take a look at some examples
You might also find it useful to look at the portfolio examples on Voicemag to see how other young people have evidenced their Arts Award journey. You may want to direct your young people to Arts Award on Voice hubs as they will find lots of useful examples, how-to-guides, and they can also share their own work with others.
Check the costs
If you are at the early stages of planning your Arts Award delivery you will need to factor in your costs, and so you should make sure you are working with our up to date costs and funding.
Get some support
For in depth support you could book in a one-to-one remote support session, where you could go through your plans for delivery, evidencing etc with one of our consultants. This is especially recommended if you are planning to deliver Arts Award with a large group, as clear planning is essential to successful large group delivery.
