Continuing our Meet the Team series, this time it’s the turn of Jasmine Popper, Arts Award Operations Coordinator and enthusiastic visual arts workshop facilitator.

IMG_4100.pngIn my role I am a member of the moderations team. I manage Arts Award enquiries on the phones and by email. I am a first point of contact in the Arts Award team, help with initial enquiries, assist advisers through the process and options, and also work closely with the team in preparing for moderations.

In my role I particularly enjoy supporting advisers, and it's always great hearing about young people’s Arts Award journeys along the way too. Arts Award is delivered across such a variety of settings and art forms and as a result encourages many exciting projects.

I have always enjoyed engaging in various art forms, particularly visual arts but also writing and music. When I was at art college studying a foundation course, I loved going into the studio to work with other students, creating sculptures, installations or short films, and discussing new ideas. I then studied anthropology and completed a Masters degree in Material and Visual Culture, researching further about art and artefacts, as well as the effects of digital media on our lives today.

Before joining Trinity, I worked in the arts sector for a number of years at various galleries in London and also worked alongside other artists. I am very interested in arts education and have facilitated workshops including drawing and printing, for both young people and adults. I always enjoy exploring different ways of making and collaborating with other people, designing different workshop activities, and of course seeing what imaginative outcomes are created from them.
